Calpol Infant Suspension is a soothing solution for the treatment of a fever or pain in your baby. The easy-to-administer strawberry flavour solution is less likely to be refused by infants and can begin to work in minutes. How does Calpol Infant Suspension work?
It is free from synthetic colours and sugar. The 5ml of the syrup provides 120 mg of paracetamol. Paracetamol is one of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs which are effective in reducing pain, inflammation and fever.
Is the Calpol Infant Suspension suitable for my baby?
It can be used from 2 months onwards. It is suitable if your baby has;

Dosage
The commonly used dosage guidelines for Calpol Infant Suspension.
2-3 months of age
The baby's weight should be at least 4kg. The starting dose is 2.5ml. Do not give more than two doses; the interval between the doses should be at least 4 hours. If the fever is still there, talk to the doctor.
3 months to 6 years
If the baby is between 3-6 months, the dose is 2.5 ml up upto 4 times daily. For babies in the age group 6-24 months, the dose is 5 ml up up to 4 times a day.
In the age group 2-4 years, you can use 7.5ml in each dose; in the age group 4-6 years, the basic dose is 10ml.
